Meals-on-Wheels Delivery Driver

Charlevoix County Commission on Aging

For the elderly, homebound people in our community, the meals-on-wheels program insures that they receive nutritious meals every day. The driver who delivers that meal is often the only human contact that senior has all day. The driver has the opportunity to provide nourishment for the body and soul of a senior citizen by delivering a meal with a smile and warm wishes for a good day. The meals are picked up from the Boyne Area Senior Center between 10:30-11:00am and delivered throughout Charlevoix County by 1:00 pm.

Initial orientation and training is required. There is the opportunity to job shadow a current volunteer to learn the route and the specifics of the job. This position requires a reliable vehicle and a safe driver. The volunteer must provide proof of insurance and a satisfactory driving record. Volunteers are reimbursed for mileage. The drivers will pick up the meals at the Boyne Area Senior Center, 411 E. Division, Boyne City, MI.
