RSS XML FeedBackground Active Dec 29, 2008 to Jan 30, 2009

Homeless shelters in Waukesha County are currently overflowing with residents. To help meet the increasing need for temporary housing, a drop-in shelter will open at St. Matthias Episcopal Church on 111 E. Main Street. The Waukesha Drop-In Shelter will be open from 7:00pm-7:00am seven days a week starting January 15 and will run until April 30, 2009.

Volunteers and donations are needed to open and operate the shelter. Primary volunteer responsibilities include food preparation, resident transportation, and general hostess duties. Donations requested at this time are bedding, blankets, pillows and monetary contributions. To volunteer at the shelter, please contact the Volunteer Center or search online for opportunities through Hebron House of Hospitality.
