STAND! for Families Free of Violence leads the community in ending domestic violence and child abuse and in helping to rebuild lives.

Description:
STAND! provides over twenty critical life-saving programs and services to those who have been affected by domestic violence and/or child abuse. These include a 24 hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, food, clothing vouchers, transitional housing, vocational training, parent education, and counseling, among other services. STAND! is one of the largest agencies of its kind in northern California, and has a distinguished history of designing, developing and implementing innovative and effective programs, and is the recipient of local, statewide and national recognition.

To learn more about our agency, current volunteer opportunities, and the application process, please attend one of our upcoming volunteer orientations:

08/06/2013 Tuesday 1pm-2pm
08/20/2013 Tuesday 1pm-2pm

Most of our volunteer positions require volunteers to complete a 50+ hour Mandated Agency Training. We offer this training 3 times a year. Our next training is scheduled in September 2013.

History:
STAND! Against Domestic Violence started with a single phone line in a utility closet and a core group of volunteers dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence. A year later, the Family Stress Center received its first grant to begin serving victims of child abuse and neglect. These two historic non-profits became one unified agency on July 1st, 2010.
