Grandma's Kitchen

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Feb 16, 2006 to Mar 31, 2006

Grandma's Kitchen engages seniors in teaching food preparation and nutrition skills at the West Riviera Beach and Pahokee Beacon Centers to children in those afterschool programs.  The courses will focus on teaching healthier ways of preparing customary recipes and controlling portion size.  The Seniors or "Grandma's" will be providing the instruction in a comfortable, familiar and trusting environment.  Six to eight "Grandma's are needed at each site and will be paid a small stipend.  Training classes are being held on Feb. 22, March 1, 8, 15 and 29.  Please contact Joyce Sookram at 561-233-1742 or Audrey Norm at 561-233-1712 for exact locations and times.
