YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE by spending a few hours of your time raking leaves for someone physically unable to take on this task on a national day of service, Make A Difference Day, which is Saturday, October 25. Help give an elderly or disabled neighbor peace of mind by helping to clear their yard of leaves in preparation for winter.
Register yourself or your group to volunteer in advance by clicking here. (You may also use this link to sign up someone who needs help raking.) Spontaneous volunteers are welcome to show up on the 25th as well. All volunteers should arrive at the National Guard Armory between 8-9 AM on October 25 to receive a raking assignment. Please bring a rake for each volunteer as well as any supplies that may make the job easier for you (gloves, tarps, leaf blowers, etc.). A complimentary lunch will be provided at the armory for all volunteers after the morning of raking.
Also taking place at the Armory on Make a Difference Day will be three collections from 8 AM-Noon:
