Northwest Missouri Area Agency On Aging
Last updated on March 5, 2014

The Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging’s mission is to promote systems that maintain and enhance the quality of life for older persons in their home and long-term care facility home environment. The Agency strives to listen to the needs and respond by developing programs that foster utilization of resources effectively and efficiently, localized community service provision and individual decision making. We value older persons as an important segment of society and believe they should be afforded independence, dignity, respect and the opportunity to contribute to society and their own well-being. We believe there is strength in diversity and value to working together toward the independence and happiness of all older Northwest Missourians.

The Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging has been serving the senior population of the northwest eighteen counties of the state since 1973. Along with more than 600 other area agencies nationwide, the Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging was the result of a designation in the Older American’s Act. We are a non-profit, charitable organization with a 501(c)(3) designation.

While our funding comes from various federal, state and local sources, all of our programs and services are designed to help older adults live as independently as possible for as long as possible. All services are provided on a contribution basis; no one is denied service because of inability to pay. Nonetheless, we and our contractors rely heavily upon contributions, donations and volunteers to serve as many people as possible.

The philosophy of the NWMOAAA has always mirrored the Older Americans Act.

The Area Agency is a charitable, non-profit agency. We rely upon grants and contributions to meet the growing needs of an aging population. As with all charitable organizations, money gets tighter as the need gets larger.

Please consider contributing in any way you can, including contributing your time. We strive to keep our administrative costs at a bare minimum, so we rely heavily upon contributions and volunteers. If you can contribute your time, both the agency and local senior centers always need volunteers.
