Northwest Missouri Area Agency On Aging
Last updated on January 6, 2015

The mission of the Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging is to promote systems that maintain and enhance the quality of life for older adults in the home environment of their choice.

This is done by listening to the needs, identifying and coordinating resources, planning, developing and implementing programs, services and systems for older adults and their caregivers. The Agency strives to ensure effective, efficient use of resources and supports individual choice and informed decision making.

To empower and provide older adults of Northwest Missouri the opportunity to live safe, healthy, independent lives in the home environment of their choice.

The Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging has been serving the senior population of the northwest eighteen counties of the state since 1973. Along with more than 600 other area agencies nationwide, the Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging was the result of a designation in the Older Americans Act. We are a non-profit, charitable organization with a 501(c)(3) designation.

While our funding comes from various federal, state and local sources, all of our programs and services are designed to help older adults live as independently as possible for as long as possible. All services are provided on a contribution basis; no one is denied service because of inability to pay. Nonetheless, we and our contractors rely heavily upon contributions, donations and volunteers to serve as many people as possible.

The philosophy of the NWMOAAA has always mirrored the Older Americans Act.

The Area Agency is a charitable, non-profit agency. We rely upon grants and contributions to meet the growing needs of an aging population. As with all charitable organizations, money gets tighter as the need gets larger.

Please consider contributing in any way you can, including contributing your time. We strive to keep our administrative costs at a bare minimum, so we rely heavily upon contributions and volunteers. If you can contribute your time, both the agency and local senior centers always need volunteers.
