 Meeting spot will be the Parsons Avenue library branch conference room at 845 Parsons Avenue. This is the west side of Parsons Avenue between Kossuth and Columbus Streets.
Description: Volunteers will help to locate and survey existing street trees planted within the boundaries of the Schumacher Place Civic Association. We are located east of German Village, west of Parsons, south of Livingston and north of Whittier. Working with the Columbus South Side PRIDE Center we will divide into small groups, walk the neighborhood and survey the trees.
How this project will impact the organization/clients and/or surrounding community: Street tree coverage for the neighborhood was identified recently as a neighborhood priority. The first step to increasing healthy street trees in the neighborhood is identifying where current trees are planted and their current health.
Volunteer Parking Information: Plenty of free on street parking exists in the neighborhood.

Schumacher Place is a great urban neighborhood in Columbus, OH. East of German Village, it has the same wonderful German flavor and feel. The neighborhood has been a designated area of Columbus' near south side since 1983. It was named for one of the neighborhood's oldest families, the Schumachers. Schumacher Place is a neighborhood of diversity with a variety of people and housing choices within its boundaries.

The purpose for which the Schumacher Place Civic Association was formed is to improve and promote the social and civic needs, general welfare and unity of the geographic area known as Schumacher Place in the southern portion of Columbus, Ohio, and to provide related services and activities exclusively for charitable purposes.
