LVNRV's vision is to empower adults in the New River Valley by helping them to achieve independence through literacy. LVNRV, a certified, locally-based affiliate of ProLiteracy Worldwide, is committed to a mission that includes:
Increasing literacy for adults who function at or below the fifth grade reading level and those seeking to learn English as a second language; Advocating for literacy in the community.

Description:
Literacy volunteers provides free, confidential, one-to-one tutoring to help low literacy adults (non-readers or those who read below a fifth grade level) to meet their self-determined literacy goals and to help those whose native language is not English to communicate in English. Literacy Volunteers serves the counties of Montgomery, Floyd, Pulaski and Giles and the city of Radford.
