Volunteer Spotlight - Charlene Bigelow, Essentials for Life.

For more than seven years, Charlene has volunteered as a certified ombudsman with the Oregon State Office of Long Term Care in Eugene.  Her role is to resolve conflicts and work with residents, staff and management for optimum care at the agency's facilities.  She was named "Ombudsman of the Year" in 2007. 

Volunteer Hours:  15-30 per month (341 total hours in 2008).

Other volunteer work:  Lane County Recruiting and Screening Committee; state certified as a Master Gardener.  Previously volunteered for local Adaptive Gardening committee.
