Volunteers needed to help escort Oakwood Village University Woods assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing care facility residents in wheelchairs to monthly or weekly activities and programs at Oakwood Village University Woods. Volunteers may help weekdays, Monday-Friday, or on weekends, mornings, afternoons or early evenings. Activities and programs include musical or theatrical performances. Day and time will be flexible and negotiable based on volunteer's availability.

More people are needed to help fill this opportunity to have enough volunteers to ensure the residents' needs are met for being able to go to the programs/activities they want to go. People who would like to do this as volunteers will be required to volunteer a minimum of 3 months and go through Oakwood's registration/orientation process to be placed as a volunteer.

Interested persons need to go through Oakwood Village's registration and orientation process, and make a minimum 3 month commitment, to be considered for placement. Additional training to be provided as needed by assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing home Events and Activities coordinators upon placement. Volunteers should have good social and communication skills, a physical ability to push residents in wheelchairs as needed, plus an interest in wanting to work with older adults.
