Schools of Hope Tutoring Program - Sherman Middle School
Volunteer Opportunity Details:
Are you passionate about working with school-aged youth from diverse backgrounds? Would you like to positively impact students in the Greater Madison community and empower them to succeed in school and life? Then become a tutor through the Schools of Hope Middle School Program! Schools of Hope serves as an effort to help reduce the gap in academic achievement between students of color and their white peers in Dane County schools. Help give hope to a 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student by assisting them with homework, skills building, organization and test preparation. Tutoring sessions take place at Sherman Middle School, during the school day, 7:35 am to 2:37 pm, or after school from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In as little as 1 hour a week you could have a significant impact on a student's confidence and performance in school! For more information, or to apply, please contact Laureine George-Pratt at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit us at www.ulgm.org/schoolsofhope.
