Wernersville State Hospital's staff and consumer run canteen is searching for an assistant to help with basic operational duties.
We would love to have a volunteer that would respect confidentiality issues but still exhibit a friendly and personable approach to serving others. Responsibilities include working independently after receiving instruction or demonstrations. Volunteers would also need to practice sanitation concerns associated with food prep through frequent handwashing, wearing gloves and pulling hair back. Times and hours of volunteer assistance for this opportunity are: Tuesday from 10:30AM until 12:30 PM and/or Friday from 10:00AM until 2:00PM.

Orientation to Wernersville State Hospital and Volunteer Resource Policies and procedures. Volunteers having two hours/ week or 8 hours/month of consumer contact must receive a yearly TB test which may be done free of cost by our health Clinic if needed.

 Wernersville State Hospital is approximately 11 miles west of Reading,PA and one mile west of Wernersville. Turn left at the traffic light at Sportsman Road (after Eisenhauer Nissan/Saab.) The entrance to the hospital is over the bridge on Sportsman Road.
