Contribute to the Necessities Blitz!

In the past, we have held a Blanket Blitz on the evening of our event. This year, we will be holding a NEW Blitz...for Necessities! The Necessities Blitz will help clients who are transitioning out of our shelters to their own places with some common household items. 

Some of these items are:

  • kitchen trash cans
  • trash bags
  • 4 pk. of light bulbs
  • 4 pk. of toilet paper
  • can opener
  • new pillow, sheets, pillow cases
  • broom, mop, & dust pan
  • cleaning supplies (laundry detergent, dish soap, dish cloths, sponges, bathroom cleaner, toilet cleaner, floor cleaner, bleach)

Description:
Nationally Certified VA service officer helps eligible veterans apply for VA compensation and pension programs. VA programs are designed to help veterans, their spouse and dependent. Assistance
Linn County provides up to three months of assistance to eligible resident veterans and their immediate family.
These basic needs include:
Rent
Interest on original mortgage
Food
Utilities
Burial
Linn County Veteran Affairs office is available for workshops, presentations concerning Federal and County Veteran benefits. Outreach programs include:
Stand Downs
Sleep Outs
Political Forums
Workshops
Our Outreach programs offer an excellent opportunity for the community to volunteer and help support services to veterans.
