Theme 2011: The Human Mind
 The 2011 Rochester Regional Science Fair will feature work by students in grades 6-12 throughout the District. Volunteers are needed to help as Display and Safety Officials, Judges, and General Volunteers.
 
DISPLAY AND SAFTEY OFFICIALS
Description: No science background is needed for this volunteer position. Volunteers will use a checklist to review student projects to ensure they are following the guidelines for science fair display. 
Minimum Age of Volunteer: 18 (high school graduate)
Time Commitment: Thursday, February 17 2:30 – 5:30 pm (3 hours)
Location: Rochester Community and Technical College – Regional Sports Center (831 30th Ave SE, Rochester)
Number of Volunteers Needed: 10

JUDGES
Description: Science background is needed. Volunteers will interview students at their project display. Judges will evaluate projects based on how well students follow the scientific method, the detail and accuracy of research, and whether experimental procedures were used in the best possible way. Judges also evaluate whether or not students can speak freely and confidently about their work. Judging instructions and a meal are provided at each judging session. Volunteers must help at a minimum of one session and can help at a maximum of all three sessions.
Minimum Age of Volunteer: 18 (high school graduate)
Time commitment: Minimum of 3 hours. Judging sessions are held on Thursday February 17, 6:00 – 9:00 pm; Friday February 18, 8:00 – 11:00 am; Friday February 18, 12:00 – 3:30 pm. Judge one, two or all three sessions.

GENERAL VOLUNTEERS
Description: No science background needed. Help out with registration, door monitor, information desks, greeters, awards ceremony, etc.
Minimum Age of Volunteer: 18
Time commitment: 2 – 4 hours on Thursday, February 17, 2:45 – 9:00 pm & Friday, February 19, 7:45 am -3:30 pm. We will work with your schedule!
Location: Rochester Community and Technical College – Regional Sports Center (831 30th Ave SE, Rochester)
Number of Volunteers Needed: 50
