BCNC's mission is to ensure that the children, youth, and families we serve have the resources and supports to achieve greater economic success and social well-being.

Description:
For more than 40 years, BCNC has been the vital link energizing the Asian immigrant and Asian American community of Greater Boston. It is the one source that meets the needs of this community providing essential services that ease integration into American society, while preserving their rich cultural identity.

BCNC is the place where immigrant cultures and American lifestyle converge. BCNC provides exemplary programs in childcare, youth development, adult education, family services, and art and cutlural activities. Rooted in the Asian American community, BCNC understands their needs and how to help them become self-sufficient.

History:
The Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) is the largest multi-service agency serving Asian Americans in the greater Boston area. In 1969, residents of Chinatown and the South End formed the agency to ensure a community voice in the design of the new Quincy Community School, and to improve the quality of life for the community that was to be served by the new school. Since then, we have grown into an organization with a total of nine programs serving a range of ages, backgrounds, and experiences. In July of 2005, after serving the community for 36 years, BCNC completed a successful capital campaign for a new community center at 38 Ash Street, a half block from its main offices. The new center is five stories tall and has 20,000 square feet. The new building consolidated the agency from six sites to two, and is now home to most of BCNC's programs. It is the first "green building" in the community and is registered with the U.S. Green Buildings Council for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Commercial Interiors Pilot Program.
