Aging Services - Volunteer Chore Program

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Aug 27, 2010 to Sep 27, 2010

As every homeowner knows, home repair and maintenance projects are never ending.  Many seniors who wish to remain in their own homes have limited incomes that prevent them from hiring contractors for needed repairs.  Seniors may also be faced with failing physical abilities that prevent them from completing the do-it-yourself projects they once used to.  Aging Services has an immediate need for individual and group volunteers to Help Keep a Senior's House Their Home.

Some examples of ways Aging Services, Inc. Chore Volunteers make a hands-on difference are:
–    Yard maintenance
–    Gutter cleaning
–    Interior/Exterior Painting projects
–    Minor structural, electrical and plumbing repairs/installations (no permit work)
–    Wheelchair Ramp Construction
–    Material pick up and delivery
–    Miscellaneous home projects (ie: hang a shelf, set up a new bed, rearrange furniture)

If you enjoy working with the elderly population, please contact Teresa Robinson, Director of Chore and Volunteer Services at 319-398-3644.
