An emerging and immediate need: Non-medical volunteers as well as RNs and experienced CMAs are needed by United Way to assist Polk County Health Department with the distribution of flu vaccines at H1N1 clinics.  Dates, locations and times will be determined as vaccine is available but are located in Des Moines and throughout Polk County.  Volunteers are asked to complete a short survey now, identifying times and days available.  Once clinic dates are determined you will be contacted to determine if you are available to volunteer.  More than 70 volunteers are needed for each clinic.

Volunteers are needed for the following assignments:

Greeter/Line Controller – will greet the clients and manage the lines of clients to ensure smooth flow upon arrival, through the different stations a  and exiting.

Registration Clerk – will distribute registrations, answer questions, and review completed registrations

Supply Deliverer – will deliver supplies to the stations within the Clinic

RNs and CMAs (certified medical assistants) – will assist in dispensing vaccines, answer phones with medical questions
