Join event Chair Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney and special guest Orlando Magic Community Ambassador Bo Outlaw for Step Right Up!, a family-friendly volunteer carnival featuring free games, prizes, food and fun.

During the carnival, you, your family, friends and co-workers can take part in onsite volunteer projects that support United Way's focus on Building SafeCommunities through Education. You'll also learn about many other terrific opportunities to get involved and make a difference in your community.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Assemble 150 Hi-5 food packs for at-risk children served by Second Harvest Food Bank;
  • Write 200 encouraging letters to middle school students served by the Interfaith School Turnaround Program;
  • Sort and assemble education kits for the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County;
  • Assemble 150 hygiene kits for children in a residential program; and
  • Send 50 customized emails to a local representative, encouraging them to support educational programs

Step Right Up! will also feature nearly 20 game booths, including a bounce house, 'dunk-a-cop' dunk tank, bean bag toss, 'spin the wheel' to win, and hula hoop contest.  The first 200 participants will receive a free LIVE UNITED t-shirt, and all volunteers will receive a free hot dog, popcorn, and beverage.
