The mission of this program is to provide a youth service outlet to elementary and middle school kids in the community of Evanston that teaches respect, civic pride, character development and academic excellence through football. We use football as an incentive to encourage the development of our youth into solid students, young men and young women (we have 3 playing this year) and competitive football players.

Description:
The Evanston Jr. Wildkits are a youth community service program grounded in the values of A-C-T, Academics, Character and Teamwork. We enroll 150 kids into our program annually. Our goal every season is to help tutor, mentor and coach our community youth as they prepare to transition into high School. We have a very open relationship with the parents and school staff and administration as we help our kids connect a pathway to success for their future and, for the future of our community.

History:
The Evanston Junior Wildkit Football program is a grass roots youth football organization that was founded in 1994 and became a part of the Central Suburban Youth Football League, which is comprised of teams from the North Shore of Illinois. The purpose of the program is to teach fundamental football skills and philosophy to players between the grades of 5th through 8th. We also strive to develop each participant’s sense of self-esteem and community pride, and enhance their understanding of the importance of teamwork.
