Volunteers with an interest in journalism and social justice needed to help with layout, writing articles, conducting interviews, archiving, copy editing, and other possible editorial duties for local newspaper that is distributed and promoted by the homeless. There are no limitations on volunteers; however, a candidate with strong writing and copy-editing skills or a background in journalism would be well-suited to this position. A brief orientation is required prior to volunteering.

Volunteers needed to help those with sight impairments in the Cleveland area. Volunteers will help greet and seat persons, help serve beverages and lunch, assist persons to the restrooms, and watch for safety issues. Skills needed include the practice of good hygiene, knowledge of needs of the sight impaired, good communication skills, and a friendly and service-oriented personality. Serving lunch can be an excellent opportunity for a group service project. Volunteers should be available 2-4 hours per month.
