Volunteers needed to advocate for the needs of long-term care residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities and consumers of home care services.  Must have ability to listen and interact with staff and residents. Choose from various locations in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Medina and Geauga counties.   Flexible schedule, 2 hours a week preferred. Training begins March 17th. 18 years and older.  Nonprofit mentoring new Asian Americans seeks volunteers to provide homework help to children/teens at Lakewood location on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30pm to 7:30pm (Asian refugees) and East Cleveland location on Mondays to Fridays 3:30pm to 6:30pm (Chinese immigrants). Westside nonprofit seeks volunteers to facilitate/instruct a seven week parenting class with S.T.E.P. curriculum.  License/certification in nursing, early childhood education, social work or counseling required. Must have excellent listening/communication skills, understanding of group dynamics and a knowledge of early childhood development and positive disciplining. How to Participate

  1. Register or login to the Volunteer Center.
  2. Search for a volunteer opportunity or use BVU's Volunteer Personality Quiz to help you choose.
  3. Volunteer for at least 4 hours between April 11 and August 31, 2016 (can be earned over multiple dates).
  4. Log your volunteer hours and make your game choice.
  5. BVU will send you an email with instructions to claim your tickets.
