Weekly Meals and Hunger Center Volunteers Hands On Homelessness and Hunger

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Our Hunger Center is one of the largest in Cuyahoga County, serving about 5,000 individuals per year. We need your help in the hunger center, packing bags, helping choose groceries and stocking shelves. You can also opt to work in the Kitchen for the community meal, help cook, serve, and clean up. This opportunity is available Tuesday evenings from 4:00 to 8:00. Daytime opportunities in the Hunger Center are available Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 to 3:00.

No experience needed. We ask that you wear closed toe shoes and dress comfortably. We provide hair nets, aprons, and gloves to those serving in the kitchen.

 From the south: Travel I-77N and exit at Broadway. Head East (turn right off of the exit). Main office will be on the right just past Finn Ave. From the east: Travel south on E. 55th St and turn right onto Broadway. Main office will be on the left just past E 49th St. and Czar Ave. From the west: Travel I-490 east and exit at Broadway. Head East (turn right off of the exit). Main office will be on the right just past Finn Ave. From the north: Travel south on E. 14th St. Turn left onto Broadway. Main office will be on the right just past Finn Ave.

How to Participate

  2. Search for a volunteer opportunity or use BVU's Volunteer Personality Quiz to help you choose.
  3. Volunteer for at least 4 hours between April 11 and August 31, 2017 (can be earned over multiple dates).
  4. Log your volunteer hours and make your game choice.
  5. BVU will send you an email with instructions to claim your tickets.
