Volunteer Opportunity - Turn Heartbreak Into Hope Hands On Health

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

You will assist in providing relief to disaster victims by attending to immediate needs of individuals and families, such as food, shelter, clothing, first aid, and other emergency needs.

Position Reports To: Volunteer Team Leader, DAT Coordinator and Program Manager

Location: Throughout Northeast Ohio

Time Commitment: Must be able to be on call two 12-hour shifts per month

Potential Benefits for You: You may learn about disaster assessment, how to provide client assistance, and increase your problem-solving and crisis decision-making skills.

You must be 18 years of age; have a valid Driver License; be in good health; have a high school education or equivalent; clear background check and complete required training within three months.

Training Provided: Disaster Services: An Overview, Disaster Action Team Fundamentals and other related training.

 The Greater Cleveland Chapter headquarters is a three-story red brick building, located on the North side of Euclid Avenue in midtown Cleveland, between E. 36th and E. 40th streets. Free parking is available directly behind the building. Our headquarters is close to bus routes with easy highway access.
  Nearest Bus Stop: Health Line E 36th or E 40th Streets, 1 minute minute walk
