Southern Door Senior Recognized For Volunteer Efforts

Congratulations are in order for a Southern Door High School senior who's received recognition for his volunteer service. Matt Olson, a student correspondent for DoorCountyDailyNews.com, is one of six Wisconsin students to be named a Distinguished Finalist in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Matt raised nearly $2,500 to provide livestock to farmers in third world countries through the organization God's Global Barnyard. Matt raised the funds by conducting presentations at churches and other community groups to build awareness about the cause. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards is the United States' largest youth recognition program based solely on volunteer service.
