Call for VOLUNTEERS to participate in SPECIALIZED DISASTER TRAINING AND RECOVERY WORK for Winter 2006 Hawaii Flood Recovery
What is this all about? Volunteers are needed to bring help to the hundreds of island families affected by the winter 2006 Hawaii flood. The federal disaster proclamation opened the door to bring assistance to those who had losses.
Who will provide this specialized disaster training? Trainers from the Michigan headquarters of The Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC) will come to Hawaii to train and oversee this process. They are the nation’s leader in disaster needs assessment.Once I’m trained, what will I do? The process involves going door to door in disaster-affected communities to inventory unmet needs, and provide a database of these needs to a community organization. |
