With an aging population, more and more seniors are turning to the Waikiki Health Center's Friendly Neighbors Program to help them remain independent. Each senior is different in their need for help. For some seniors, all they need is someone to visit with them or to call them by phone to check on them occasionally. Other seniors need a little help with housework or with shopping. What can you do? It's very simple. All you need to do is spend at least one hour per week with a senior. While additional support is appreciated, just an hour a week is appreciated by the seniors and the staff at the Health Center. Some volunteers spend more than one hour each week or assist more than one senior, but it's up to you. If you would like to get involved with this great program that helps our seniors have a better quality of life and to remain independent longer, please contact the Waikiki Health Center and volunteer.
