Danbury SeniorNet Learning Center
| Last updated on October 4, 2011 |
The Danbury SeniorNet Learning Center (DSLC), serving the greater Danbury area, provides a friendly, low-pressure environment where adult students can learn to use computers and share computing experiences.
Description:
DSLC is building a community of computer literate adults to bring them access to technology and to empower them to share their time-tested knowledge and wisdom. Our classroom provides each student with the use of an IBM compatible computer with Microsoft Vista, and Microsoft Office applications instruction. Additionally, the student experiences the World Wide Web (Internet) and E-mail basics through actual on-line activity.
History:
The DSLC is part of SeniorNet (www.seniornet.org), a nationwide organization that proudly serves over 240 learning centers and 40,000 members in the U.S. The Danbury Center opened in January 1999 at the Danbury Senior Center, 80 Main Street. Since then, over 1,800 area residents have graduated from our programs, all eagerly looking for ways to use their new skills.
