FRIENDS of the Danbury Library

The FRIENDS of the Danbury Library is a non-profit volunteer organization working to further the educational and informational needs of the community through its support of the Danbury Public Library. It is the responsibility of the FRIENDS to administer and invest funds raised, donated, granted, or endowed for the benefit of the Library and the public interest.
Description:
Opportunities for volunteers exist at the Friends' October Book Sale as Book Sorters throughout the year, and for set up and cleanup at the time of the sale. Mini sales are held 3 times a year. The Library itself can use volunteers for book handling and stacking. To volunteer at the Danbury Library, please call the library directly:(203) 797-4505.
History:
For over fifteen years the FRIENDS have provided funding for the Library through Annual Book Sales and mini-sales. The FRIENDS generally gives between $40,000 and $50,000 annually for supplementation of the expenses of the Library.
