Canstruction® 2010 - Call for Entries

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Jul 7, 2010 to Jul 23, 2010

Attention Volunteers of Iron County! We are pleased to inform you of a fun, creative way to give back. On Friday, August 13th, we'll be holding our annual Canstruction® competition to fight hunger in our community.

Canstruction® is the most unique food charity in the world! Competing teams design and build giant sculptures made entirely out of canned food and then are displayed for the public to see and judge. The best part is that after the competition is over and the sculptures are deconstructed, all of the canned goods are loaded up and donated to the Iron County Care and Share.

Canstruction® competition will be held on Friday, August 13th in the Smith's parking lot. We're looking for teams of five or more to compete. The deadline for entry and design submission is Thursday, July 22nd.  To learn more about the competition or to enter, please contact the Volunteer Center of Iron County at 435-867-8384. Or, click here for a Call for Entries to view more information.

If you'd simply like to donate toward this great cause, all canned food donations can be dropped off in our clearly marked receptacles inside Smith's Marketplace. Thank you for helping our cause to feed hungry families this year.
