Agency - Cedar City Events

Cedar City Corporation's Events office brings various events to the community each year, including a half marathon, a mountain bike race, a classic film event, etc. These events encourage people to visit our area and they allow local residents to participate in a wide variety of events.

Description:
Byron Linford is the Cedar City Events Director and the Director of the Heritage Center. His job is to promote Cedar City with events, and to attract visitors to the area. Many of the events benefit charity organizations.
The City does not make a profit on any of these events, rather, it encourages visitors to the area to help boost our local economy.
Danny Stewart is an assistant to Byron Linford and also to Brennan Wood of the Economic Development office. These are the only employees in this office.

History:
The Cedar City Events position has existed for just over three years. In that time, the Cedar City Half Marathon, the Fire Road Cycling Mountain Bike Race, the Groovefest Quarter Marathon, the Cedar Express 31-Mile Relay, The Red Rock Relay, and the Three-Peaks Adventure Race have been supported by this office, as well as numerous other events. This fall, a classic movie night will be held on October. Additionally, various sports organizations, such as Triple Crown Softball, come to town to hold their events.
