Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on July 16, 2012 |
Caring adults will be matched with students in grades 3-12. They will meet with their mentee once a week, at school, during the school year to play games, have conversation and build a relationship. Mentors are volunteers from the community who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the life of a young person. Our research has shown that students who have mentors have increased attendance, fewer office referrals and improved grades. The goal of TeamMates is to help students reach their full potential.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a background check. A 2 hour mentor training is required before a match is made. This opportunity is sponsored by: Waterloo Community Schools
