Mission: To put Christian principals into practice through programs that build healthy body and spirit for all. For over 145 years, the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee has been building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Through a variety of programs and services offered at our twelve metropolitan locations and in the community, we help people grow strong in spirit, mind and body. The YMCA builds relationships within families, between neighbors and around the world.
Description:
The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee first began 150 years ago as a safe haven and gathering place with an emphasis on spirituality and character development. While we have stayed true to our roots, we have grown and evolved to serve families, individuals and communities as their needs have changed over the years. The YMCA is a non-for-profit charitable organization that serves more than 90,000 individuals each year at: 11 branches; 3 full-day child care centers; K4-8 charter school; 2 resident camps; and dozens of after-school sites. Each location has programs and services uniquely tailored to the needs of the community.
