Stick up for an abused child. Become a Guardian ad litem.
Volunteer Opportunity Details:
Our Guardian ad Litem Program (also known as CASA) is committed to the protection and healing of abused or neglected children who have been referred to us by the courts. The GAL program trains and appoints a volunteer (called a Guardian ad Litem) to each child. The volunteer’s job is to visit the child regularly, research the child's needs, then prepare recommendations for the child and present them to the court.
Training to become a Guardian takes about 30 hours and new classes begin monthly. A comprehensive background check including child abuse central registry, sex offender registry, and FBI NCIC national database will be completed for each applicant.
