Education and food are two of life's most basic necessities; without it, children and adults have trouble learning, focusing, and creating a better future for themselves. On September 1st and 2nd, United Way for Southeastern Michigan, along with the Brightmoor Early Learning Community, Gleaners Community Food Bank, Focus: HOPE, Salvation Army, Matrix Human Services and Starfish Family Services Early Learning Community, will be mobilizing volunteers to help distribute backpacks full of school supplies as well as food bags to residents, caregivers, parents a in the Brightmoor community.
