This opportunity at Community Health Awareness Group (CHAG) allows volunteers to help prepare for the most comprehensive day of testing individuals for HIV in the United States. During this day we test on average at least 600 people every year.  This all day event becomes an extravaganza of sexual health promotion with a focus on an individual's knowledge of their HIV status. CHAG partners with Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion (DDHWP) which offers at the same site testing for syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia. The event offers ora-quick rapid testing which takes twenty minutes to receive results, and participants can feast on hot dogs, soda, candy, receive free massages and listen to good music while they wait for their results. The volunteers would help promote the event, create and distribute flyers, field phone calls about the event, organizing vendor information and processing paperwork required for the event, and signing in participants.
