Share Your Voice-Join The United Way Speakers Bureau
United Way for Southeastern Michigan (UWSEM)'s Speakers Bureau is actively seeking volunteers to utilize their personal experiences or business expertise to speak within the local community about the important work UWSEM is doing to improve communities and individual lives in measurable and lasting ways. The purpose of the Speakers Bureau is to support community outreach by speaking to groups and raising awareness about our focus areas, initiatives and programs. A speaker's responsibility is to share the personal stories that highlight the importance of giving back to the community and to tell others how they too can "Live United".

Speaker Responsibilities
q All speakers must attend a United Way speaker workshop
q Attend presentations at workplace campaign sites with a United Way staff member
q Speak for 5-10 minutes about United Way for Southeastern Michigan
q Present the mission and goals of UWSEM in a clear, effective and engaging way
q Share personal stories of people helped by United Way or How you "Live United"
q Deliver presentations that are consistent with the needs of the requesting organization
q Provide own transportation for travel to assignment
Those who have attended the training will be added to a list of possible speakers. A specific request will be sent to you (speaker request form) with the time, date and location of the presentation. Engagements vary in length and attendance, depending on the request. Volunteers are generally asked to deliver one to five presentations during their one-year term.
