Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 23, 2012

Children and Youth Volunteers interact and play with the many children who are staying at the emergency shelter. They play with them in the beautiful, well-equipped play room and outside in the play yard. They also accompany the children on various field trips. Children and Youth Volunteers have the opportunity to engage in crisis intervention with these children, provide emotional support, and role model healthy, non-violent relationships. Everyone is welcome to apply; male volunteers are especially needed.

Children's Volunteers must attend the 40 hour training, and an interview is required prior to training. Volunteers work one two hour shift per week, and we ask that they commit to at least 6 months of volunteer work at SAFE House.
