Description:
Habitat addresses the local housing needs in Lake County, Indiana. Families receive the benefits of home ownership, stability, security, a sense of dignity and pride, and improved control over financial circumstances. Habitat homes are provided at 0% interest. Habitat benefits the community, bringing up property values and attracting further investment in the community.
It is a wonderful partnership that helps change the life of a family, one house at a time. And every 24 minutes another Habitat house is completed and another family's life is changed through this partnership.

History:
The affiliate was established in 1986. Since then, we have built 56 homes in Lake County. Future Habitat homeowners must dedicate a minimum of 300 sweat equity hours as one of the requirements to becoming a partner with Habitat.
