Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on January 3, 2013 |
As members of Florida’s elder population make the transition into nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family-care homes, a strong support system offers advocacy on every level. The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program helps provide this support. It takes a special person to commit to such a mission. If you decide to volunteer with us, you will begin a certification and training process upon approval of your application. Once you become a volunteer ombudsman, you will have significant opportunities to help improve the quality of life and guarantee the rights of Florida’s elders who reside in long-term care facilities. We continually seek volunteers to give back to our parents and grandparents at least a portion of what they have given to us throughout our lives.
