CHS Mission:
Embracing Children, Inspiring Lives CHS Vision:
We envision Children's Home Society of Florida as a state and national leader in providing high quality community-based solutions to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
Description:
Children's Home Society's original purpose was to find loving, adoptive homes for infants and children who had been orphaned, but the agency has been pro-active in addressing the changing needs of children and families in each community. Services currently offered in Palm Beach County focus on adoption, child abuse and neglect prevention and intervention, and help for runaway and troubled teens.
History:
The South Coastal Division is one of fourteen divisions that make up Children's Home Society (CHS) of Florida, the state's oldest and largest non-profit agency working for the betterment of children. Since 1902, CHS has been working to build strong families for Florida's children. The South Coastal Division, established in 1964, serves all of Palm Beach County. During the past year, more than 24,000 children and families participated in one or more of the division's services.
