United Way Volunteer Connection is a program of the United Way of Marathon County whose purpose is to build community strength through volunteerism by connecting volunteers and organizations with opportunity to serve.
Description:
United Way Volunteer Connection offers an enhanced online volunteer matching database that is direct, efficient, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Organizations can use Volunteer Connection Online to post volunteer needs and manage volunteers. Volunteers can search all posted opportunities in one central location based on keyword, volunteer type, interest, skill, or time requirements. Also, volunteers without Internet access can call 2-1-1 for volunteer information. An information specialist can assist potential volunteers 24/7 or they can be referred to Volunteer Connection staff for more complex requests. Additionally, the program offers an online donated goods bulletin board called GoodsMatch where organizations with needs are matched to individuals with available goods.

Overall Experience

We met the sweetest lady through Make A Difference Day raking.
 |
The Make A Difference Day Raking Project coordinates volunteers to rake for elderly and disabled residents in our area.
My boyfriend and I made it out to a lovely lady's home. She was so grateful for the help she came out and raked right along with us. She shared stories of her family and meeting Coach McCarthy before he was the Packers' head coach. She just kept telling us how her life was better for having met us. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. posted by Shanna Hansen on October 23, 2011 |
