The Mason County Historical Society is a private, non-profit educational organization, formally organized on November 30, 1937, dedicated to perpetuating Mason County's history. The Mason County Historical Society operates Historic White Pine Village with the help of over 400 volunteers each year.
Description:
Historic White Pine Village opened in 1976 and is an historic village of over twenty-nine museum buildings and sites of history dedicated to preserving and presenting Mason County's past. The buildings contain thousands of signs, artifacts and archives that help interpret their place in history. Historic White Pine Village has been visited by tens of thousands of visitors and most comment upon leaving about the nostalgia, serenity and beauty of the village and museums, truly a village "Where History Lives". A self-guided tour experience, Historic White Pine Village is an exciting, cultural and educational visit for individuals or the entire family.
