Advocacy, Education, Support

Description:
Kansas Tick-Borne Disease Advocates Inc., (Also DBA Kansas Lyme Fighters) has a vision to advocate, educate (public and physicians), and provide support for people suffering from tick borne infections.

Part of our mission is to help the public to access medical testing and treatment according to the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society Standard of Care.

We also help raise money to give grants to individuals and families to access medical testing and treatment. We work closely with www.lymetap.com

We are friends helping friends to find resources and practical support (www.ILADS.org).

We do not give medical, legal, or mental health or counseling advice. Please seek this from Board certified and licensed professionals. We are simply friends and neighbors who are suffering and helping those who call us through current research and personal experience for educational purposes only.

History:
Kansas Lyme Fighters was formed 2/09 and since that time has elected Board of Directors, held monthly meetings, and completed a variety of activities: listening to callers as friends helping friends, connecting the public to resources within their community, and rejoicing when people get diagnosed correctly and obtain proper medical treatment.

We have helped individuals and families in Douglas County (an endemic area) and in Kansas who are infected with Lyme and other tick-borne diseases (a cluster of bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections often misdiagnosed as 300 different diseases).

In 2012, we changed our name to Kansas Tick-Borne Disease Advocates, Inc.
