Seattle Audubon cultivates and leads a community that values and protects birds and the natural environment. Vision: We do this because Seattle Audubon envisions a healthy environment in balance with nature, where people enjoy, respect, and care for the natural resources that sustain the community of life.
Description:
Founded in 1916, Seattle Audubon is the oldest natural history organization and one of the most active & effective in Washington State. Completely volunteer-run for it's first 63 years, Seattle Audubon's volunteers actively promote birds and nature through environmental education, citizen science, conservation, and The Nature Shop. Seattle Audubon is affiliated with the National Audubon Society as the sixth largest of over 500 chapters, yet we are directed by our own board and raise our own operating funds. Seattle Audubon's membership includes over 5000 people and Volunteer Program supports over 500 dedicated volunteers.
