Description:
Fraud Fighter Call Center volunteers provide fraud prevention information and education to consumers. Telephone Volunteers place calls and speak with individuals one-on-one, delivering information about ways to protect property and financial assets. Administrative Volunteers perform data entry, assist with mailings, download calls from the 800# or web site as needed, and offer clerical support to the project. Outreach Volunteers offer presentations or distribute project-approved information and written materials at community meetings and events. Training will be provided for all activities. Volunteers may participate in more than one activity.
The Call Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with morning sessions (9:30 to 12:30) and afternoon sessions (12:30 – 3:30). Most people work 1 or 2 sessions per week.
We are located just south of the Northgate Mall in NE Seattle.

History:
In 2003 and in partnership with the Washington State Attorney General’s office and other partner agencies, AARP Washington launched a statewide initiative known as the Fraud Fighter Program. This program trained more than 3,000 Fraud Fighters in 20 different communities who continue to educate citizens about ways to avoid fraud.
