Our mission is to support the arts and humanities by producing entertainment and educational events for organizations whose goals align with those of the Spirit of the Arts Foundation.

Description:
Our long term plan is to acquire real estate to be used as a cultural and art center and become a self-sustaining, green venue. The center will be able to accommodate resident artists and/or students and support numerous modalities for the arts, education and enjoyment of the community as a destination center.

Short Term Goals that are in alignment with the foundation’s mission as follows:

1. To promote the arts, culture, traditions and music of the world
2. To establish resources to assist those in need
3. To establish relationships in the community and elsewhere that are mutually beneficial
4. To produce shows that enhance our image and that of the venue/community
5. To provide educational opportunities in the arts/history/green living/wellness
6. To provide resources relating to sustaining mental/physical/financial wellness
7. To provide a forum for shared communication



History:
The foundation was formed in December 1999 and got it's status as a 501c3 in 2001. We have produced multi-day concerts and festivals beginning in 2001. Some of these were big events and some lesser events. The most recent of these event was the Waterloo Music Festival on May 14-15, 2011. We produced the entire event and also raised the sponsor money and in-kind donations.
We regularly do events at Olde Lafayette Village to help the village with foot traffic; to showcase struggling arts and to create free community events.
