Our mission is to help Somersworth residents experiencing temporary financial difficulty who have exhausted all other avenues of assistance and to do so in a manner that maintains their dignity.

Somersworth SHARE Fund (aka SSF) is designed to assist our residents, both with budgeting and financial aid, who have temporary emergency basic living needs not covered by other agencies, organizations and/or programs.
Our all volunteer staff consists of:
(1)office personnel; to screen, schedule appointments, interview clients, verify information and forward assistance recommendations to the board.
(2)Resource Committee; to raise awareness as well as funds through Public Relations, fundraising events, appeals to organizations, faith and financial institutions, businesses, local residents and grants.
(3)Board of Directors; to oversee, guide and govern all SSF operations.
100% of all donations are spent directly on qualifying Somersworth residents with payments being made directly to creditors.

SHARE was founded in 1980 by Mrs. Mariette Facques of Milford, NH, followed by Rochester in 1990, Portsmouth in 2002 and Dover in 2005 and now Somersworth in 2010. Each SHARE Fund, though using the same structure, is staffed, supported, supervised by and serves its own community(s) completely independent of each other. SSF has a wonderful volunteer staff who are witnesses to what willing and dedicated people can accomplish as they reach out to those going through extreme difficulties.

 Arrangements will be made to potential volunteers by telephone. The office space we currently are using will only be used to meet privately with applicants and is staffed only as needed.
