The Food Finders Food Bank mission is to end hunger across Mid-North Indiana through support from Member Agency food distribution, food service programs, and community outreach.
Description:
Food Finders is a distribution center for area food resource agencies such as food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, day cares, etc. Food Finders works to distribute food through community-supported BackPack Programs, Summer Food Service Programs, and Mobile Pantry events. At Food Finders, volunteers may help to pack or sort donations, prepare food donations to be distributed to the shopping floor, participate in special events around the community, or help distribute food through the Mobile Pantry Program.
History:
Since 1981, Food Finders Food Bank has been a critical component of the welfare of Tippecanoe and 15 other counties in Mid-North Indiana, providing food to member agencies, advocating for the hungry and educating the public about hunger related issues. Funded by United Way, foundations, grants, USDA, corporations, sponsors and individual donors, Food Finders Food Bank distributes more than 6 million pounds of food annually to a network of non-profit organizations that work to alleviate hunger throughout Mid-North Indiana.
