The Department of Campus Involvement at St. Cloud State University exists to connect students, campus and community. The Civic Engagement Program's mission is to provide students the opportunity to develop leadership skills, a sense of belonging and civic responsibility through involvement in meaningful service. We strive to promote reciprocal service that benefits both the individual and the community.
Description:
The Civic Engagement Program:
- helps organize volunteer opportunities
- serves as a clearinghouse of information
- works to promote academic service-learning
- strives to build strong relations between the university and the larger St. Cloud community.
History:
The Civic Engagement Program (formerly named Volunteer Connection) was established in 1990 to offer the St. Cloud State University community challenging and rewarding volunteer and service-learning opportunities.
