Do you want to make a difference in your community with just a few hours a week? You can by becoming a tutor at the African Community Education program and working with African immigrant and refugee youth! Our students are hardworking and dedicated to catching up in school- all they need is a little help and encouragement from someone like you! By providing assistance with homework you will help to teach our students that asking questions and seeking help is positive and in doing so help them get closer to achieving their goals! This position is flexible, as you are not paired with a student but rather there for general assistance, all we ask is a minimum 2 hour per week commitment!
All volunteers are required to attend a 2 hour orientation to provide you with more information on our program, history, goals, students and volunteer expectations. After school tutors are expected to volunteer for at least 2 hours per week, for a minimum of 6 months.
